Recordings are shifted back automatically to line up with what you heard, so overdubs sit where they were played.
The offset shifts recordings earlier to line them up with what you heard. The figure above is the browser’s estimate until you replace it: type over it, or press Calibrate and let Saturn measure it against a few “sh” sounds. If overdubs still feel a touch late, raise it; if they land early, lower it — the same manual offset Reaper, Ableton and Logic all provide.
Calibrate
Four soft count‑in beats, then eight clicks. Say “sh” on every one of the eight — short and sharp, like a hi‑hat. Saturn finds where each answer landed and averages the difference.
Wear headphones. This measures the trip out to your ears and back in through the microphone, so the click should not reach the microphone any other way.
Listen plays your “sh” take back against a fresh click with this offset applied, round and round. If the two land together it is right. A “sh” still late against the click wants a larger offset.
